Munich, 15 December – Global Savings Group gave a special gift to its partners this holiday season.
GSG team partnered with Wilderness International, a non-profit foundation, to provide its partners and brands with the opportunity to protect a piece of nature. As a result, they will protect 20,000 sq metres of rainforest in the Madre de Dios region, Peru, with the recorded highest biodiversity. The donation on behalf of GSG’s partnering brands and advertisers will directly contribute to the foundation’s work on increasing the forest area, wildlife protection, research, and local environmental projects.
“Like our partners, we care about the consumer and the planet we all live on” – said Johannes Wirth, CEO of Offers and Promotions at Global Savings Group. “This donation follows after our initial partnership with Wilderness International on our Dutch portal Kortingscode, where we sponsored the protection of rainforests for every transaction made through the website. We hope that this holiday gift for our partners will be the beginning of a long tradition to make our future more sustainable.”
Kai Andersch, Chairman of the board for Wilderness International, stated: “We are very excited and enthusiastic to preserve the rainforest, and we love huge trees. They are the infrastructure for many processes of life on earth. Clean water, regular rainfall, clean air, oxygen and carbon sequestration… the list goes on. But most importantly, they are home to the most biodiverse ecosystem on our planet.
Our big goal is to permanently protect unique wilderness by purchasing the areas legally secure and holding titles for perpetuity. Since 2008, we have protected more than 5 million square metres of precious and endangered rainforest. Some of the most endangered wilderness areas in the temperate rainforest of Western Canada and southeastern Peru are the focus of our work. We guarantee transparency through aerial imaging of our protected sites. With sponsorship certificates, we offer a scientifically sound environmental protection solution, a solid wilderness conservation project, and maximum transparency through drone mapping and exact geo-coordinates of the protected jungle area. As a non-profit foundation, we are keen to protect primary forests and wilderness worldwide and combine this with long-term compensation and CSR solutions for our partners.
We are honoured to partner with Global Savings Group, and we are eager to develop and broaden our partnership for the benefit of nature.”
